Fiddlin's Fun!

Fiddle Festival!

I have been busy trying to achieve all my goals for 2009, and I think I'm farther behind than I was in January! Is that possible? I started this blog and then...................... went and had fun, ignoring my new fun blog! I will work on being better about posting!

True to my resolution list, I have been taking fiddling lessons and have been enjoying them very much. (see, I have been busy at least!) I have never played an instrument before (besides the mandatory school recorder). Well, I'm happy to report that I have been enjoying my beginner adult fiddle classes with Hope Grietzer of Happy Hollow Music. Hope is a great teacher and strikes an excellent balance in her class. My class performed today at the Fiddlin's Fun Festival held at Roberson Museum. We performed Mairi's Wedding and I think we did a great job! Not bad for only 11 classes - here is our first performance together~ enjoy!

Happy New Years!!

New Year, new goals to strive for. I hope you made some New Years resolutions and I expect you to stick to them!! I made a few, ok, several! I plan on striving to be my best in 2009, this is the last of the '00 years to do something great before we flip to the '10's.

Here are my resolutions for 2009:

I am going to take violin lessons this year, much to the neighbors dismay! I am also going to focus on my creations! I will create more and worry less. I will eat better and work out alot more since I joined not one, but two gyms this year! (long story) By the end of the year, I will have a rockin bod!

I will hike at least 4 High Peaks this year!

I will focus on the loved ones that are around me and cherish those who I love. You only get one chance to live this life and this year I'm going to rock it!!

Are you with me?

I just posted a new item in my etsy shop! It's always exciting to be able to show the world a new item that I have created! This is a fabulous Dragonfly necklace. It is quite lovely, if I must say so. The beads are picture jasper, which I just love. It's amazing how rocks can be so beautiful. I like to look at them wonder what experiences they have seen time go through. Did a dinasour walk over them? Did these gems ever have contact with ancient people before they were plucked from their last resting place? It really gives them character and makes me feel special when I wear them. The dragonfly pendant is made from pewter which I just love. It has a nice luster to it. This pewter is lead free. Please stop by shop to check out more photos of this necklace.

Real Pottery Lover

I want to share a photo I was able to snap of a little four legged friend of mine. I caught my 'lil fluffy tailed friend lounging in non other than a bowl thrown by Michael Cho. Now this is what I call a real pottery fan! He really seems quite at home, doesn't he? See how he admires the fine technique used to throw this beautiful bowl? He really appreciates how the colors of the glazes blend together. Yup, he is definitely a real pottery lover!

Well, I Did it!

Here Ye, Here Ye,

I did it! I have started to fall in line with the rest of Americans and started to blog. While I'm not really sure anyone really wants to read my mutterings, I'm sure folks will at least like my photos. Who doesn't flip through a book and just look at all the pretty pictures? It's easy, painless and the colors are pretty!

I have been enjoying the beautiful fall weather we have been having in upstate New York. Here is a photo of an apple picking excursion that I ventured out on not too long ago. The apples were tasty and the fall colors were fab! Who doesn't love fall in New York?
